I think at this point everyone is aware of the “Florida Man” meme. Whether it’s fair or not (and I’m inclined to say it’s fair), Florida has become an easy, if not reliable punchline. I realized this bad press might negatively impact tourism in the Sunshine State. My aim was to convince people that in spite of the disturbing “Florida Man” headlines, Florida is actually a great place to visit.

I hope someone is swayed by these ads—not me, however. I’d never want to go there.
